As developers, we like challenges. But those challenges should come from solving problems that address business needs, not from the platform, frameworks, or APIs we build our applications with. Unfortunately, Java developers often spend more time wrestling with the parts used to build applications than tackling the things that provide real business value.

In the past few years, however, there has been a trend away from complex, heavyweight, and burdensome frameworks. Leading the charge against complexity in Java development is the Spring Framework. By applying solid development principles such as dependency injection, loose coupling, declarative programming, and convention-over-configuration, Spring simplifies Java application development.

This 3 day instructor-led course introduces students to the essentials of developing applications with the Spring Framework. Students will learn everything they need to create a complete Spring-enabled application, from basic bean wiring techniques, to declarative security and transactions, to developing a web front-end.

Prerequisites:

• Solid Java experience
• Knowledge of HTML, JDBC, and JSP
• Some background in object-relational mapping frameworks such as Hibernate or JPA
